Fable - Ants and the Grasshopper

Ants and the Grasshopper

When summer in a forest, there lives an ant who is very diligent at work. Every day he was tireless in gathering food which he then stored in the granary. The ant does not even heed the heat or rain, he strived for it so that the barn is not empty during the winter.

Once when on a journey to collect food, ants meet with grasshoppers. Grasshopper greets the ant and says why is he working so hard while in the woods there is so much food available. The wise ant answered that he did not want to run out of supplies for winter.

While eating the leaves near the grasshopper mocked the ant and said again, "Winter is still long, no need to work so hard, have fun first." But, the ant ignored the word grasshopper and resumed his work. It lasted until some time when the ants were increasingly diligent in working and the grasshopper remained lazy.

Until winter comes and lasts longer than expected, ants that have a large supply of food can stay at home comfortably, while grasshoppers begin to worry because the food is gone. Grasshopper then asked the ant for help, of course he refused. But, seeing a grasshopper who nearly starved to death made the ant unable to bear it, he then helped him.

From the example of the short and short story above, there are interesting things you can teach your son or daughter. One is not to be as lazy as grasshoppers do. Take for example ants who work hard so that they can enjoy the results later.

This story also teaches that the child wants to help people who need help even though the person has done wrong to him. Although the ants have been ridiculed by grasshoppers despite being disappointed, but he is not vengeful and still wants to help grasshoppers.
